These supposedly 'quality' modules I have been buying from Snowcovered.com (they are simply sellers not the authors) are turning out to be half-assed and sometimes not even properly functioning. Turns out there are some public security problems with the photo gallery so right now only Registered Developers and Admins have rights to view albums.
In any case, I am turning the nameserver over right now. The sinewsofwar.com domain should be fully propagated within about 4 hours I would assume.
The site isn't fully 100% but if I don;t propagate that name over soon.... I may not be able to access it temporarily to do anything anyways.
I can't stress enough how much I want an opinion of the 'skin' of the website. I am having second thoughts and there are others out there that are really nice also. I would change it in a heartbeat if it meant that others did not like the design.
So... I am waiting on the license for the photo gallery module. I needed to email the creator and I hope to get it soon. The benefit to this gallery module over the other 'free' galleries is that it uses DHTML and some AJAX. This means that there is literally no refreshing of the page and works quite fast. Anyways, it will be a rockin photo gallery for all you developers here.
In other news, I am probably going to write the project management module myself. I purchased license to use a semi-commercial module, but in practice it sucked. the bad news is that I may not get my money back. The good news is that we will have a module that fits our purpose perfectly and is fully customizable as I will have the source code.
OK, the new Sinews of War website is underway. I really want to make this a site that fills in the gaps of the OFP community. There are alot of people out there contributing content for OFP and it isn't organized in a very useful way. I mean that it's great to display 'new' stuff (especially only add-ons) but there isn't alot of ways to get old stuff or even simple script modules. Most of the sites out there right now simply have a system that is like a big basket. As the basket gets full, it gets harder to 'dig' into the basket for older material. Most of it is organization. However, the amount of organization needed would put alot into the hands of the searcher. For example, to find a specific unit type (add-on) one must first go to the add-ons area... then search under the name... then perhaps make sure it is the most recent version... then make sure he/she can download it. My proposal is simply to allow lone developers store their work and display it on a personal "Project" page that wi ...
