I finally decided to release my fairly recent(almost one year old lol) multiplayer campaign and demonstration of my beta CampaignManager system in one, the "B20" campaign based on the Bravo Two Zero story. There are still some bug-finding chat messages and other little annoyancesin there that you can expect from something that was dropped in the middle of being worked on like this, but I still think the more realisticly minded and patient players might enjoy this campaign and the use of SOW 2.2 in it...if anyone wants to make it just a little more final or maybe convert it to WGL or something, feel free to do so and we'll put any improved version up instead.
I also decided to release my very first real mission that used scripting, so the scripting is pretty dodgy in it, but it features a very open play style and a system to allow players to attempt to rescue downed AI helicopter crews...should one of the transport helicopters ...
I got to play two wonderful missions last night that were submitted via our Mission of the Month system and noticed something I've never even thought about before. All too often we as mission makers are putting the player into a heroic struggle against evil, facing sometimes insurmountable odds.
Granted a few of the themes have suggested in a somewhat stereotypical way that there is a small force going up against a large force, but it's really defined that way by common perception rather than through creativity. What I mean is, if the theme is "hasty ambush", does the player's team have to be the ones doing the ambushing? Does the player's team have to be smaller than the opposing force?
I do not disagree that this is entertaining. It is fun to be the hero or "special forces" that go in and kick some major enemy ass. However, there are other ways to make missions just as entertaining by exploring fac ...
I've just finished the base page for SOW on the BIS Wiki site.

Please tell me what you think, and by all means.. correct any grammer mistakes for me!
I didn't want to get to drawn out, but I did want to provide a more personal and interesting page than typically found in the Mods pages. I think many will find the history section interesting. Hopefully, not too many find it boring.
It needs alot of corrections - I know. Please consider I wrote this between midnight and 2am. :)
Well, I've finally received word about the Chat module I was hoping for. I realize it isn't much of an improvement since most IM chats and IRC work fine. This is simply convenient and an extra added bonus that might come in handy atleast once I hope.
In other news, there is still alot going on here personally that even though I've been able to sit down more, I have had little motivation to work on anything simply because I work so darn much on programming when I'm not at home. It's fun to think about and fun to plan, but the labor is a different story!
Anyways, I am not planning on giving up... just trying to wind down a little.
In the meantime, play Vult's Resistance Campaign conversion. It's a blast - especially with SOW.
I have been typing up a small document to try and list the things I think we will need to make the kinds of multiplayer campaigning that is the core concept everything here revolves around. The idea is that the quicker we can gauge what Armed Assault has and does not have of the things we need, the quicker we can fill out the holes and start making something really interesting...
Basically I want to make a sort of check-list we can run through as soon as someone from here get their hands on Armed Assault, maybe some of it even before we get it that way we can prepare ourselves for what will need to be done without requiring 6 months or more to each individually learn the possibilities of the new game in SoW terms.
If anyone has any ideas about what they will need to make the perfect multiplayer campaigning mission, please let me know and I'll put it on the list...
The obvious things I have so far& ...
The previous versions had issues with the fact this is on a webhost that only allows Medium Trust. without explaining some specifics, most of the features were unavailable. As you can see now, there are comments available for the gallery images. There are some other benefits, but that is one of the big ones.
Still plugging away at the project management app. Man, this is tougher than I thought it would be. I guess this is why I am sticking to Windows Forms instead of doing Web stuff. I am also still getting a handle on the new ASP.NET 2.0 so it is more learning than actual programming I am doing. It'll get done though... you can be sure of that!
I'm getting warmed up for scritping by helping the SWAF guys develop some scripts for a big clan vs clan mission.
They are relatively simple and customized to the mission itself, but just hanging out in the Mission Editing and Scripting forum the last two days has been a good refresher. These scripts should get me back into the development mood quite quickly. I really need to finish this Project Mgmt system ASAP.
